News, March 31: Samsung Display announced that it will stop production of liquid crystal displays (LCD) in South Korea and China by the end of this year.
The Samsung Electronics display manufacturing department said it will provide more resources for its QD display, and the existing staff in its LCD business will be transferred to the OLED and QD display business.

Samsung Display said, "We will continue to supply LCD panels to customers before the end of this year, and there will be no problems in this process."
The factories that are still producing LCD panels are located in Asan, South Korea and Suzhou, China. Most of the LCD panels produced by these factories are used by Samsung Electronics' TV business to produce its QLED TV brand.
After Samsung Display announced an investment of US11 billion in QD Display in October last year, the market generally expected the company to stop producing LCD displays.
